I was born in a family of violin makers, so I had the privilege to start very early making violins.
I learned from my father Paolo Vettori, who learned from his father Dario I Vettori.
I’m lucky to keep the legacy of more than 90 years of violinmaking Italian Classic Tradition.
During my youth, I didn’t go to a classic “Violin making school”.
I learned in the most traditional way: my father and my grandfather handed down the knowledge to me.
I haven’t had anyone who told me “this can’t be done”, so I could try and experiment freely whatever I wanted.
That’s how I found the way that works, my way.
And I always encourage my Star Pupils to find their own way.
Thanks to my hard work I’ve received sincere compliments from some the most valuable luthiers around the world.
I was mentioned in Strad Magazine as well.
Now I can say it with confidence: you can be a luthier even without having attended a school.
Indeed, perhaps it reflects more the true tradition of craftsmanship handed down from father to son.
